‘Golden Age Rising’ is the first published body of work by Cape Town-based multimedia artist Daniella Mooney. Comprised of images and texts surrounding Mooney’s 2014 exhibition of the same name, this 190-page hard-cover book documents selected sculptures from Mooney’s career and provides an overview of artistic influences – explored through an introduction by Donovan Greef and an interview by Paul Edmunds. Mooney’s work, while often taking minimal or geometric forms, is charged with symbolic meaning and aims to probe the viewer’s perceptions of myth and the nature of existence.
